Roxburgh Reiver Ian Maxwell kept up the reiving tradition by taking the prizes back over the border following the Phoenix Long Distance Orienteering event, held in the Cheviots last weekend.
Ian won the 30km class on both days and with a total time of five hours and 48 minutes, finished more than 20 minutes clear of his nearest rival.

With the course running high into the hills along the border, conditions were very tough with knee-high heather for most of Saturday's race and low cloud and rain on Sunday, resulting in several competitors failing to finish.

The event was a trial run for Ian, who intends taking part in his first mountain marathon event in October.

What do you think of the various video pieces we upload to the website?
They're a good idea and I always have a look
So far so good but I'd like to see more in terms of numbers and variety
I never watch them
